Getting to Know Your Candidate for Hope Councillor

Hello, I'm Christine Tomlinson, and I'm excited to be running for District of Hope Councillor.

My professional background spans federal government communications, public opinion research, public consultation, policy-related work and project coordination.

Throughout my career, I've developed a passion for understanding how government works, how public feedback informs decisions and how clear communication can make complex information more accessible.

My experience in public opinion research and consultation has been particularly meaningful. I enjoy connecting with people, learning about different perspectives and exploring how public institutions can better understand the communities they serve.

Closer to home, I've been actively involved in Hope's arts, heritage and community initiatives.

These experiences have allowed me to collaborate with volunteers, artists, community organizations and residents who care deeply about our local history, culture and future.

I'm passionate about bringing people together, supporting creative ideas and exploring opportunities that contribute to community life.

Running for Councillor is an exciting new chapter for me, bringing together my professional experience, community involvement and interest in municipal government.

My approach to leadership is to: Listen. Understand. Assess. Decide. Explain.
